Our 2023 end of year sale
We have several offers available for Proton VPN:
- VPN Plus 30-month deal: $3.99 per month for the first 30 months, which is 60% off the regular price. Billed as $119.70 for the first 30 months.
- VPN Plus 15-month deal: $4.79 per month for the first 12 months, which is 52% off the regular price. Billed as $71.85 for the first 15 months.
- 30-month VPN and Pass bundle: $4.99 per month for 30 months, which is 55% off the regular price. Billed as $149.70 for the first 30 months.
- 15-month VPN and Pass bundle: $5.79 per month for 15 months, which is 47% off the regular price. Billed as $86.85 for the first 15 months.
- 12-month Proton Unlimited deal: $7.79 per month for the first 12 months, which is 40% off the regular price. Billed as $93.48 for the first 12 months.
- VPN Plus 1-month deal: $1 one-time fee, then renews at $9.99 (cancel at any time).
Who can get an end of year deal?
If you are new to Proton VPN or have a Proton VPN Free plan, you can claim any of our year-end deals.
If you already have a Proton VPN Plus plan, you can subscribe to a longer-duration VPN Plus plan than you currently have, or to our Proton Unlimited plan.
For example, if you currently have a Proton VPN Plus 1-month plan, you can take advantage of our 15-month or 30-month VPN Plus offer (with or without Pass Plus for an additional $1 per month), or our Proton Unlimited offer.
Can I get a 2023 end of year deal if I already have a 2022 deal?
Yes, but the new plan must be an upgrade from the plan you purchased as part of last year’s promotion.
For example, if you purchased a 15-month Proton VPN Plus plan during Black Friday 2022, you are eligible to purchase a 30-month Proton VPN Plus plan or a Proton Unlimited plan as part of this year’s promotion.
Please note, though, that last year’s offers are lifetime deals that last until you cancel or change your subscription, whereas this year’s deals renew at our regular prices.
I’ve downgraded my account and now can’t see the deal.
If you downgraded an existing paid Proton VPN plan to a free plan after October 1 of this year, you will unfortunately not be eligible for our end of year offers. You can subscribe again to your preferred Proton plan at the regular price. We offer automatic discounts for our 1-year and 2-year plans.
How do I get a Proton VPN end of year deal?
If you already use Proton VPN, sign in to account.protonvpn.com to see which deals you can claim, and select your preferred deal.
What are my different payment options?
If you’re new to Proton, you can pay for our 2023 end of year deals using a credit or debit card or PayPal. Select your preferred payment method at the checkout page.
If you already have a Proton Account, you can pay using a credit or debit card, PayPal, bitcoin, or cash.

When will my new plan start?
If you already have a Proton VPN Plus plan and purchase an additional Proton VPN Plus plan as part of our 2023 end of year sale, the additional time will be added to your subscription.
For example, if you have 3 months left on an existing Proton VPN Plus plan, and you take advantage of our 2023 end of year 15-month Proton VPN Plus deal, your subscription will renew in 18 months.
Similarly, if you already have a Proton Unlimited plan and purchase an additional Proton Unlimited 1-year plan as part of our end of year sale, your renewal date will be extended by 1 year.
If you already have a Proton VPN Plus plan and purchase the VPN and Pass bundle, this is treated as subscribing to a new plan. This new plan will start immediately, and unused subscription days from your existing Proton VPN Plus plan will be applied towards payment for the new plan.
If you already have a Proton VPN Plus plan and upgrade to a Proton Unlimited plan as part of our 2023 end of year promotion, the new plan will start immediately. Unused subscription days from your Proton VPN Plus plan will be applied towards payment for the new plan.
If you already have a Proton Unlimited plan, you can’t downgrade to a Proton VPN Plus plan, as your plan already includes access to Proton VPN Plus.
What happens when my plan finishes?
All plans will automatically renew at the normal rate and duration. A 15-month VPN Plus plan will renew as our regular 12-month plan, and a 30-month VPN Plus plan will renew as our regular 24-month plan.
Here are the current renewal prices:
- A one-year Proton VPN Plus subscription renews at $71.88.
- A one-year VPN and Pass bundle renews at $95.88.
- A two-year Proton VPN Plus subscription renews at $119.76.
- A two-year VPN and Pass bundle renews at $143.76.
- A one-year Proton Unlimited subscription renews at $119.88.
- A one-month Proton subscription renews at $9.99.
If you don’t wish to renew your plan, you can cancel it at any time. If you cancel a VPN Plus plan, your subscription will remain active for its full duration, but it won’t automatically renew.
If you cancel a Proton Unlimited plan, the subscription ends immediately and unused subscription days are added to your Proton Account as prorated credits.

How do I add Proton Pass?
If you purchase a 15-month Proton VPN Plus plan or a 30-month Proton VPN Plus plan, you can add Proton Pass, our encrypted password manager, for $1/month at checkout.
How are end of year discounts calculated?
Our end of year discounts are calculated by comparing the end of year offer’s monthly price to the standard monthly price of the same plan. The standard monthly price for VPN Plus is $9.99 per month. The standard monthly price for Unlimited is $12.99 per month.
When does the 2023 end of year sale end?
Our end of year sale ends on January 3 at 09:00 AM UTC.
